We share a Facebook Page with our neighbouring group. They are the Lower Coquetdale Red Squirrel Group (lcreds).

Red squirrels have been showing particularly well at our feeding stations. Tim Mason has sent us this lovely shot, check out those ear tufts!

Did you know, reds do not hibernate and store food in trees to eat over the winter months. They put on weight in the autumn to help them through the winter. This is important for breeding females, so that they are in good condition for producing young in the spring. Fingers crossed we see some young reds (kittens!) soon!

This is where people post new photographs and we try to update it with any new research or our latest events.
